Iran has launched more than 1,000 weapons at the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to the country's Ministry of Defence (MoD).

Speaking during a press briefing on 3 March, Brigadier General Abdul Nasser Muhammad al-Humaidi, the UAE MoD's official spokesperson, displayed figures showing that 812 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 186 ballistic missiles, and eight cruise missiles had been detected since Iran began its retaliation for the US-Israeli attack that began on 28 February.

The figures showed that 172 ballistic missiles had been intercepted, 13 impacted the sea, and one came down inside Emirati territory, while 755 UAVs were intercepted, with 57 impacting inside the UAE, and all eight cruise missiles were intercepted.

“These military statistics demonstrate the complete readiness and proactive plans implemented by our armed forces and relevant agencies across various sectors, which has led to a highly effective and efficient response to all types of threats,” Brig Gen Humaidi said.

He displayed the remnants of some of the weapons that Iran has used, two of which he identified as a Qiam ballistic missile and a Bafeh (Paveh in Persian) cruise missile, along with Shahed-136, Shahed-107, and Shahed-238 UAVs.

A poster for the Qiam said it has a 640 kg warhead and a range of 850 km, both of which are higher than the 800 km and 600 kg previously stated by Iranian sources. The Paveh was developed as part of Project 351, has a range of 1,650 km with a 35 kg warhead, and can fly at an altitude of 50 m. The Shahed-136's poster put its range at 2,500 km with a 50 kg warhead.
