Kuwait announces arrival of Bayraktar TB2 UAVs

The Kuwait Armed Forces announced the arrival of its first Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on 17 July.
It said the launch ceremony at Salem al-Sabah Air Base was attended by Minister of Defence Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah al-Sabah, air force Commander Major General Sabah Jaber al-Ahmed al-Sabah, and other senior officers.
The announcement was accompanied by photographs and videos showing the event took place in a hangar where three TB2s were displayed, one of which was fitted with guided bombs.
The Kuwait Armed Forces announced on 13 June 2023 that it had placed a USD367 million contract for an unspecified number of TB2s, saying the contract includes training, mobile ground stations, weapons, electronic warfare equipment, a simulator, spares, and technical support for three years.
It announced the graduation of the first batch of Kuwaiti TB2 operators in Türkiye in July 2024 and the second batch in February.
