Special report: Estonia, Latvia, and Belgium receive Blaze interceptor UAVs from Origin Robotics

Estonia, Latvia, and Belgium have begun receiving their first batches of Blaze interceptor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from Origin Robotics, the Latvian company announced in a press release on 6 February.

A spokesperson for Origin told Janes on 9 February that the three countries are the first to receive the system. All three countries began receiving the first batches of Blaze as of January, with deliveries continuing in several batches over the coming weeks, Origin said.

Latvia was the first country to announce its order for Blaze in early October, followed by the Belgian Ministry of Defence, which announced a EUR50 million (USD59.5 million) procurement of the counter-unmanned aircraft system on 27 November 2025, and Estonia ordering it shortly afterwards.

Mass production

Latvia's Autonomous Systems Competence Center (ASCC) will evaluate the system and determine how to integrate it into the National Armed Forces. Comparable national evaluation and integration processes are underway in Belgium and Estonia, according to Origin.

The spokesperson for Origin told Janes that mass production of Blaze began in December and is being scaled up month by month. Asked by Janes what the Blaze production capacity is, she replied that “we do not publicise anything about our clients' orders or quantities. Suffice to say, we are able to produce everything that our clients need.” Origin CEO Adris Kipurs told Janes during a visit by international journalists to the Origin plant in Riga, Latvia, on 5 November 2025 that mass production of thousands of Blaze interceptor UAVs would begin the following month.
