Two Turkish Baykar TB3 unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) – designated PT-1 and PT-3 – launched from the amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu and subsequently returned to the vessel after conducting live-fire trials using different munitions, Janes observed during Exercise ‘Deniz Kurduʼ in October.
PT-1 carried two smart micro munition-lightweight (Mini Akıllı Mühimmat: MAM-L) under its wings, while PT-3 was armed with the longer-range MAM-T munition. These demonstrations focused on the TB3's shipborne launch, weapons employment, and recovery capabilities during a high-visibility phase of the exercise.
‘Deniz Kurdu 2025' was held off the coast of Antalya in the eastern Mediterranean and was designed to evaluate the operational command-and-control effectiveness of the navy's subordinate commands to develop staff and unit-level decision making and test joint interoperability procedures with other service commands. The exercise involved a sizeable force package of 78 surface vessels, six submarines, and 50 air elements, together with one underwater attack team and two underwater defence teams.
