Türkiye's Anka III UCAV demonstrates internal weapons release

Turkish Aerospace's (TUSAŞ') Anka III unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) has successfully performed its first internal munitions release.
The test, conducted at the Konya Karapınar Firing Range on 9 January, involved the deployment of Aselsan's Tolun munition from the UCAV's internal weapons bay, demonstrating improved stealth and operational capabilities.
The delta-wing Anka III, which first flew on 28 December 2023, continues its testing phase. The platform features a turbofan engine that enables it to reach 40,000 ft and Mach 0.7, with a maximum take-off weight of approximately 7 tons. It is designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and strike missions.
The UCAV had previously showcased external munitions releases from underwing pylons, but this latest test highlights its ability to carry and deploy weapons from an internal station – a feature designed to reduce radar cross-section and enhance survivability against air-defence systems. During the test, the UCAV operated at 20,000 ft and 180 kt, striking its target.
