Chilean Army buys first Colombian MRAPs

Five Armor International Hunter TR-12-24 mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles have been acquired by the Chilean Army and the Carabineros, a Chilean defence industry source recently confirmed to Janes .
The value of the contract is unknown, but Chile bought its first batch of four units for approximately USD1.7 million in March 2024.
The TR-12-24 are designed based on the International CV chassis with improvements in the angles of entry and exit and implementing improvements in the ventilation side inlets of the engine, making it more efficient in hot climates.
A new automated fire extinguishing system is included in addition to new electric locks and mirrors, protective glass mesh, new internal floor with better grip, and a new adjustable step for the weapons station, according to the manufacturer.
