The Colombian Air Force (FAC) recently completed integration work for new Elbit Systems electronic warfare (EW) equipment, installed on two of its Boeing 737-700/800 aircraft as part of the contract signed in 2022, air force sources told Janes .

The contract – registered as process No 24-2022 MDN-FAC – was signed on 30 December 2022 under a government-to-government agreement, valued at USD92 million with an execution deadline set for 19 November 2026.

With these modifications, the Boeing 737 aircraft, registered as FAC 1219 and FAC 1220, have been converted into advanced EW/intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms with ISR capabilities.

According to the original plan, the systems include EW modules, signals intelligence (SIGINT), electro-optical sensors, and electronic countermeasures, all aimed at providing the FAC with tools for spectrum control, signal interception, radar and communications jamming, and onboard protection.
