Northrop Grumman signs MOU with Terma

Northrop Grumman and Terma have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for ongoing co-operation on advanced technologies, according to a Northrop Grumman statement on 1 October.

The companies will continue to work together on areas such as the F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter, unmanned aerial systems, electronic warfare, radar systems, and missile defence, the statement said. Terma supplies more than 80 components for the F-35.

The companies have previously co-operated on the F-35 programme, including development, production, modernisation, and sustainment, Northrop Grumman said. The companies have also agreed to meet regularly to discuss further collaboration opportunities.

The agreement includes plans to work with Danish small and medium enterprises interested in joining the supply chains of US defence prime contractors, according to the statement.

“Our agreement with Terma will help strengthen the defence industrial base in Denmark leading to expanded access to advanced technologies and differentiated capabilities for US and allied forces,” Steve O'Bryan, corporate vice-president and global business development officer for Northrop Grumman, said in the statement.

Northrop Grumman had not responded to Janes queries at the time for publication.
