Plexsys and OneArc sign MOU, demonstrate joint capability

US simulation software firm Plexsys and BAE Systems subsidiary OneArc signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference 2025 (I/ITSEC 25) held in Orlando in December.
Hart Rutherford, Plexsys chief operations operator, told Janes that the MOU was an affirmation of a partnership that was already providing solutions for customers.
Plexsys' flagship product is the Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Trainer (ASCOT) 7, which Rutherford said “provides a rich synthetic environment for complex multidomain training, which can generate very realistic and challenging scenarios”. Coupled with Sonomarc, a distributed voice and data communications system for simulation and training, and Video Audio Data After Action Review (VADAAR), a mission recording and after-action review, this offers what Plexsys describes as its All Domain, All Phase Training (ADAPT) ecosystem.
Rutherford noted that a core use of ADAPT is in training airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) crews and others with similar functions. He said that while the system was used in a simulated aircraft environment, with workstations installed in a replica airframe in the correct configuration, there was also a desktop part-task trainer version that could be used for rapid mission rehearsal that was available and in service in a deployable configuration. Part-task versions are in service with the Royal Air Force (RAF) at RAF Lossiemouth and at the Control and Reporting Centre at RAF Boulmer.
The system can be used in conjunction with live training, Rutherford said, with the simulator receiving live tracks and vice versa, creating a seamless integrated live and virtual environment.
