Poland's Armaments Agency (Agencją Uzbrojeni) signed a PLN2.09 billion (USD572.14 million) contract with Military Communications Works No 1 (Wojskowe Zakłady Łączności No 1: WZŁ1) for the delivery of 56 mobile communications centres (MCCs) for phase two of the Wisła programme, according to a 24 September Armaments Agency press release.

The MCCs manufactured by WZŁ1 “constitute a crucial element of the communications infrastructure” within the multilayer air-defence system of the Wisła programme, the Polish Ministry of Defence said in a 24 September press statement. The MCCs are expected to be delivered between 2027 and 2030. The contract includes logistics services and training.

The MCCs were developed as part of phase one of thePolish Armed Forces programme to acquire the Wisła medium-range air-defence (MRAD) system, according to WZŁ1.

The MCCs are mounted on Jelcz P112.57 five-axle chassis trucks and include a lattice mast and information communication technology (ICT) systems. The MCC technical document includes specifications for radio H09-Z/1, R 460A-02, broadband IP radio R-450C-01, and radio RKP 8100.

H09-Z/1 has an implemented mobile ad hoc network (MANET) waveform, and its frequency range is 30–520 MHz.

R 460A-02 operates in the frequency range of 1,350–2,690 MHz as well as from 4.4 to 5 GHz.

The broadband IP radio can be used to transmit voice calls, video conferencing, and internet signal. It is managed from the web, a console, or a desktop. The frequency range is 225–400 MHz.
