Update: Austria signs contract for EUR73 million SitaWare BMS supply

Austrian Armed Forces announced a major digitalisation with a EUR73 million (USD77 million) contract with Danish defence software company Systematic for its SitaWare suite for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR).
After winning the tender process Systematic will deliver the battle management system (BMS) SitaWare, which is used for planning, co-ordination, and communication at all tactical levels while also enabling information sharing between defence forces and allies.
Systematic told Janes on 25 November that the contract is for 1,000 SitaWare Headquarters software licences and 500 SitaWare Frontline systems. The company added on 26 November that SitaWare “can be integrated with UxV [unmanned vehicles] and does display and distribute the data and video feeds from drones. This can be done in all products at all echelons” and that “Systematic is delivering software applications that will form a system together with other components, e.g. radios and hardware. The roll-out plan is currently developed by the Austrian Armed Forces”.
With Austria as a new Systematic customer, all countries in the Germany (D), Austria (A), and Switzerland (CH) (DACH) region will be using the SitaWare BMS, fostering joint defence efforts and bolstering European and NATO security, Systematic said in a press release on 19 November.
Systematic told Janes on 26 November that proven and seamless interoperability with NATO was one of the key criteria for selecting SitaWare.
