Twenty five Danish defence companies visited Kyiv in early October 2025 as part of Denmark's drive to establish “concrete co-operation” between Danish and Ukrainian defence firms, according to an 8 October 2025 press release by Danish Industry's (DI's) Danish Defence and Security Industries Association.
It is not clear whether all of the 25 companies were looking to establish deals with Ukrainian defence to begin manufacturing in Denmark. “That's an open question,” a Danish Defence and Security Industries Association spokesperson told Janes.
During the trip Denmark and Ukraine signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), which enables Ukrainian defence companies to “establish production in Denmark, create joint facilities, exchange technologies, and attract EU funding”, according to a 6 October press release from Ukraine's Ministry of Defence (MoD).
Danish companies see a lot of benefit in bringing Ukrainian technologies and experience into the country. Director of Danish Defence and Security Industries Association Joachim Finkielman said that Ukrainian companies are sometimes connected directly with soldiers on the front line and are able to receive direct feedback on the performance of their technologies. “And that [receiving feedback from soldiers] allows them [the Ukrainian companies] to make adjustments and upgrades almost in real time,” Finkielman said in communications shown to Janes on 8 October.
Both the Danish and the Ukrainian governments will work in “close co-operation to select relevant Ukrainian companies that can be established in Denmark”, a representative of the Danish Ministry of Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs confirmed to Janes
