IDEF 2025: UkrArmoTech and NAUDI reveal combat-tested AFVs, UGV advancements

Ukrainian vehicle-maker UkrArmoTech (UAT) revealed its UAT-Tisa and UAT-Gyurza-02 wheeled armoured vehicles at the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025, held from 22 to 27 July in Istanbul.

Tisa

Tisa is an armoured fighting vehicle (AFV) designed to transport personnel, alongside medical and casualty evacuation roles. It is based on a Toyota LC79 chassis with a reinforced suspension.

The vehicle weighs approximately 5,500 kg, with armour protecting the vehicle from projectiles, fragmentation, and mines. It can carry four dismounts.

A UAT company technical lead said Tisa can integrate third-party enabling systems and payloads into its modular design. The standard vehicle configuration incorporates electro-optical devices and satellite navigation systems, mainly fitted on the top of the vehicle.

Gyurza-02

UAT's Gyurza-02 is an 18,000 kg wheeled AFV that can also transport personnel and carry out fire support. It features a chassis with an independent double wishbone suspension, designed by UAT and developed and manufactured in collaboration with an undisclosed Chinese company.

Gyurza-02 can transport up to 10 dismounts. It has protection, compliant with NATO AEP-55 STANAG 4569 Level 2 up to Level 3, and further integrated equipment as standard.

Gyurza-02 can mount an unmanned combat turret, electronic warfare (EW) systems, and special headlights to operate in blackout mode. The turret can be fitted with weapons of various calibres, including 12.7 mm. Additional equipment includes diverse systems for unmanned aircraft system (UAS) detection, laying smoke screens, and AI-enabled ground threat detection.

In addition to being air-transportable, according to UAT, the vehicles can be towed at speeds up to 40 km/h. Both vehicles can tow other platforms not exceeding their gross weight.
