Ireland has received into service a new Dassault Falcon 6X business jet in the global support role, the country's government announced on 16 December.
Minister for Defence Helen McEntee, General Officer Commanding the Irish Air Corps Brigadier General Rory O'Connor, and other dignitaries formally welcomed the arrival of the ‘strategic reach' aircraft into Casement Aerodrome in Dublin.
The arrival of the Falcon 6X came 12 months after the EUR53 million (USD55 million at the time) contract was signed in December 2024. “[The] new multipurpose strategic reach aircraft [will be] capable of use in overseas missions across the globe,” the Irish government said on the occasion of the contract signature.
The Irish government has described the new aircraft that can fly 5,000 n miles as being “a game-changer” for its transport, airlift, and aeromedical capabilities. The Falcon 6X has a total seating capacity of 17 persons (or a passenger capacity of 14).
