NATO MMU receives eighth MRTT aircraft

The Multinational Multirole Tanker Transport (MRTT) Unit (MMU) has received its eighth Airbus A330 MRTT aircraft, NATO announced on 21 June.
Aircraft MMF8/T-061 of the Multinational MRTT Fleet (MMF) was delivered to the unit's main operating station at Eindhoven Air Base in the Netherlands on 19 June.
In MMU service, the A330 MRTT is designated KC-30M. The MMF capability will see NATO members Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Norway field 10 KC-30M aircraft between them by the time deliveries are completed in 2027.
Full operating capability (FOC) is scheduled to coincide with the arrival of the ninth aircraft later in 2024. Six KC-30Ms will operate from Eindhoven Air Base, with a further four operating from the forward operating base at Cologne-Wahn Air Base (one of which will be permanently configured for the medical evacuation role).
The NATO Support and Procurement Agency has noted its intent to widen the capability to include new partners in the near future.
