AUSA 2025: Bombardier Defense and SNC detail 10-year service agreement for Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft

Bombardier Defense and Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) detailed a 10-year service agreement for two Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft equipped with SNC's RAPCON-X technology for a US military customer on 14 October during the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) annual symposium in Washington, DC.

The agreement will cover the cost of logistical support for the aircraft, including spare parts, shipping, technical publications, and technical support, as well as access to Bombardier's 24/7 Customer Response Centre, the companies said in a release.

Under the agreement, Bombardier will cover predetermined costs for SNC, which operates the two COCO (contractor-owned, contractor-operated) aircraft for a US military customer, the companies said.

RAPCON-X allows the aircraft to adapt to specific missions by switching out onboard equipment to match tactical needs, Tim Harper, SNC vice-president of business development, noted in the release.

The baseline configuration allows the aircraft to collect and process signals intelligence (SIGINT), electro-optical (EO) reconnaissance, and ground moving-target signatures, he said. It also includes SNC TRAX software that connects RAPCON-X with all net-enabled platforms.
