Brazil's SIATT – Engenharia, Indústria e Comércio and the Brazilian Navy's Directorate of Navy Weapons Systems (Diretoria de Sistemas de Armas da Marinha: DSAM) are developing air-launched, anti-ship missile systems for Fleet Air Arm Command (Comando da Força Aeronaval: ComForAerNav) aircraft, the company said on 25 February.

A protocol of intention signed on 23 February calls for studies and information exchanges aimed at jointly developing air-launched anti-ship missiles, known as Míssil Ar-Superfície (MARSUP).

The agreement follows a technical co-operation agreement signed on 20 February 2025 between SIATT and the DSAM to define operational concepts for the MARSUP and a surface-to-air missile.

SIATT said MARSUP development studies will serve as the technological basis for the Míssil Antinavio de Superfície (MANSUP) surface-to-surface anti-ship missile developed by SIATT, Fundação Ezute, and Omnisys Engenharia as part of the DSAM's Esporão programme.

MANSUP offers a maximum range of approximately 70 km, but development is under way for an extended-range version known as MANSUP-ER with a range exceeding 200 km, according to SIATT.

MANSUP is to arm the four Tamandaré-class MEKO A-100MB multi-purpose light frigates that Brazil is scheduled to commission between 2026 and 2029 from TKMS Estaleiro Brasil Sul. It is also to be used on the three Avibras Astros II Mk 6 FN self-propelled artillery saturation rocket systems fielded by the Brazilian Marine Corps' Marine Artillery Battalion, according to the Marine Fleet Force.
