The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) has ordered more Carl-Gustaf M4 recoilless rifles, DALO and Saab announced on 12 November.

In its press release, Saab valued the order, which includes ammunition and training equipment, at SEK510 million (US54.3 million), which DALO said on its website would be funded as part of the Danish Defence Agreement. Deliveries to the Danish Army and Home Guard are scheduled to begin at the end of 2025 and continue through to 2028.

DALO said the weapons would increase the two forces' ability to counter armoured targets and infantry under and out of cover. Saab noted that the Carl-Gustaf is reusable and adaptable.

The Danish Armed Forces has been using Carl-Gustaf, known in Denmark as Dysekanon (DYKN), since the 1970s and acquired the latest version, Carl-Gustaf M4, in 2022 to replace the DYKN M/85 phased that year.
