The Dutch Ministry of Defence (MoD) ordered 150 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) for the Korps Mariniers (Royal Netherlands Marine Corps: RNLMC) from Oshkosh on 25 June, the company announced in a press release later the same day.

Deliveries of the Dutch Expeditionary Patrol Vehicle (DXPV), known as ‘Kaaiman', are scheduled for 2028. Dutch Commando Materieel en IT (Materiel and IT Command: COMMIT) spokesperson Arvid Staarink told Janes on 1 July that the total value of the contract value was EUR150–200 million (USD177.3–236.4 million).

The DXPV, an unarmoured variant of the JLTV, is tailored to fulfil the RNLMC's Future Littoral All Terrain Mobility-Patrol Vehicle (FLATM-PV). In the tender for the FLATM-PV unarmoured all-terrain vehicle (ATV) placed on the TenderNed portal on 4 May 2024, COMMIT said it should be able to operate under extreme conditions in the littoral, with high fording (saltwater) capabilities and enough flexibility in energy supply to add weapon systems and/or sensors in the future.

The Dutch MoD expected the large number of JLTVs produced and delivered to NATO countries to contribute to interoperability and therefore operational deployability. Oshkosh Defense said in its 25 June press release that the DXPV will enhance the mobility, survivability, and effectiveness of the RNLMC, providing mission readiness in both joint and allied operations.
