Saab announced in a press release on 12 December that it had received an order from BAE Systems Hägglunds worth SEK314 million (USD33.6 million) for the Universal Tank and Anti-Aircraft System (UTAAS) sighting and fire-control system (FCS) for CV90 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs).
Janes understands that the system will be integrated with CV90 MkIIICs for Denmark, Sweden, and Ukraine. The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) and BAE Systems announced a contract award for 44 more CV90 MkIIICs on 21 November, which together with 115 ordered in 2024 will bring the total number of Danish IFVs to 159, with deliveries planned for 2027–30. The Danish contract was announced at the same time as a Swedish order for 50 CV90 MkIIICs and an order for 40 of the IFVs financed by the Danish and Swedish governments for Ukraine.
Saab said the UTAAS modular integrated sight and FCS for the CV90 is currently in service in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and Ukraine, as well as having been ordered by the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The first of 246 Czech CV90 MkIVs was rolled out on 28 August, and the roll-out of the first of 152 CV90 MkIVs for Slovakia is planned for the end of February 2026.
