The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) and Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles have signed a framework agreement for 1,000 HX and TG trucks, DALO and Rheinmetall announced on 27 November. Rheinmetall said in a press release that the signing was accompanied by the call-off of 100 trucks in the double-digit million euro range.
The order also includes services such as maintenance, spare parts, and training on the vehicles. In addition, the sustainment contract for Denmark's existing fleet was extended by four years.
DALO said on its website that the new trucks are being procured as part of the build up of the Royal Danish Army's 1st Brigade, with deliveries expected before the end of 2028. Rheinmetall added that the first call-offs would be delivered before the end of 2027. By the end of 2028, DALO expects the Danish Armed Forces to have a large number of new HX2 trucks from Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles.
The new trucks will be delivered in several different versions, increasing the Royal Danish Army's combat strength across a wide range of missions, DALO said.
