FEINDEF 2025: EM&E Group unveils Ferox 6×6

Spanish defence manufacturer EM&E Group unveiled the 6×6 Ferox armoured vehicle at the International Defence and Security Exhibition (FEINDEF) 2025 held from 12 to 14 May in Madrid.

The vehicle, which will be manufactured under licence at EM&E's facilities in Linares, Spain, isbased on UAE's Edge Group company NIMR Automotive's 6×6 JAIS armoured personnel carrier. Both companies confirmed a technology transfer agreement at IDEX 2025 in February.

“This agreement provides for the transfer of knowledge and the progressive national industrialisation of the vehicle, with design authority, thus reinforcing the technological sovereignty and productive fabric of the defence sector in Spain,” EM&E said in a statement.

According to a company official at EM&E, the Ferox is designed to provide armed forces with “maximum protection and mobility in all types of terrain”.

The V-shaped hull vehicle has a length of 6.9 m, a width of 2.8 m, a height of 2.6 m, and a total payload of 4,000 kg, according to EM&E. It has a maximum speed of 100 km/h, a cruising range of 700 km, and can carry up to 12 personnel, including a crew of three.

EM&E would not comment on specific protection levels but claimed the vehicle retained “high protection against IEDs [improvised explosive devices], mine, and ballistic threats”.

At FEINDEF, an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) variant of the Ferox was shown with EM&E's new Guardian 2 Pro turret, equipped with a short-barrelled 30 mm cannon and a pair of dual Spike anti-tank guided munition launchers.

Additional variants being considered by EM&E include ambulance, recovery, armoured personnel carrier, command-and-control, and reconnaissance platforms.
