Patria and Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace have announced that they have signed a contract for over 300 of the Norwegian company's Protector RS4 remote weapon stations (RWSs) for German and Swedish 6×6 Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) vehicles. The companies valued the contract at around EUR140 million (USD166.6 million).

Patria said in a press release on 9 February that the contract includes an additional order for Sweden as well as RS4 subsystems for several CAVS variants ordered by Germany in December 2025. Assembly of these vehicles will be carried out in co-operation with Patria's industrial partners in Germany – FFG, JWT, and KNDS – with deliveries scheduled for 2026–30.

Kongsberg said in a press release on 6 February that the Protector RS4 delivered under the contract is a modernised version of the Nordic configuration already selected by several European armed forces, featuring advanced integrated sensors, multi-weapon capability, and the possibility of an upgrade with counter-unmanned aircraft system functionalities.

Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace executive vice-president Kjetil Reiten Myhra said, “This contract positions the Protector RS4 as the standard weapon station configuration across the multinational CAVS fleet.”
