Israeli company Plasan provides kitted hulls mainly for armoured vehicles but also armour for aircraft and warships, the company told Janes at the end of July.

Gilad Ariav, Plasan's vice-president for marketing and business development, said 40,000 kitted hulls have been supplied to 50 customers. Asked by Janes if this includes Ukraine, he said, “I guess so” as Plasan does not control deliveries, referring to kits installed by countries that could have subsequently donated the up-armoured vehicles to Kyiv.

Yaron Roded, Plasan's senior marketing manager, said kits made of lightweight composite materials are delivered in boxes just on time and are easy to install, which is all done in the end-user country. He described kevlar, ceramics, polyethylene, and armoured steal as making “a perfect sandwich for each vehicle”.

Plasan kitted hulls have been installed in over 12,000 Oshkosh Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected (MRAP) All-Terrain Vehicles (M-ATVs), over 4,500 Navistar MaxxPro MRAP and over 350 of the company's Husky MXT, 1,100 Thales Hawkei light protected vehicles, over 700 Plasan SandCats, over 300 Humvees, and in 19 TAV-I-RCMP Royal Canadian Mounted Police tactical armoured vehicles. They are also installed in Plasan's Guarder 6 and in two- and four-door Tatra cabins.
