The Swedish Armed Forces has tasked Sweden's Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to order 94 more Patria 6×6 armoured vehicles through the Finnish-led Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, the FMV and Patria announced on 1 December. The SEK1.5 billion (USD150 million) procurement is for troop transport, command-and-control, and medical evacuation variants of the Patria 6×6 vehicle, known as Pansarterrängbil 300 in Sweden.
In 2024, the FMV ordered 321 Pansarterrängbil 300s, and the procurement of additional vehicles brings the total to 415 for delivery to the Swedish Armed Forces in 2025–30. The FMV said on its website that the Swedish Armed Forces had received 14 vehicles, in addition to 20 pre-series vehicles that the Swedish Armed Forces has trained on and evaluated for a year-and-a-half.
Sweden joined the Finnish-led CAVS programme in 2022. The other members are Denmark, Germany, Latvia, Norway, and the United Kingdom. Patria said it has received orders for over 1,000 Patria 6×6 vehicles and has delivered more than 250 through the programme.
