AUSA 2024: UVision loitering munitions to participate in experimentation capstone

The new UVision loitering munition multilauncher made its conference floor debut as the company prepares to send the system to Project Convergence Capstone 5 early in 2025, an executive told Janes.

The Autonomous Multi-Launch Loitering Munition System can hold 21 munitions at a time and has space in its container for an additional 10–12 munitions, UVision CEO Ran Gozali told Janes on the sidelines of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) annual symposium on 14 October in Washington, DC. He declined to provide details on how the company's loitering munition will be performing a mission at Project Convergence, the army's main experimentation event of the year.

“We are planning to be part of Capstone 5 and multiple events in which we will showcase our advanced capabilities and how we [are] actually opening our architecture to be part of the entire ecosystem of the US Army,” he said. However, Gozali noted that the company is involved in the army's air-launched effects (LE) programme, integrating with army helicopters in order to have a “smooth handover” from air to ground control of the platforms.

For the US market, the company is highlighting the Hero 120 loitering munition, which it is also submitting for the Low Altitude Stalking and Strike Ordnance (LASSO) programme, but it can be configured for the company's other munitions such as the Hero-90.
