After attacking Iran for the second time in 12 months, Israel has kept up aerial sorties against targets in Iran following the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in one of the opening strikes on 28 February.

At 1511 h Israeli time on 2 March, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) posted on social media that the Israeli Air Force (IAF) had so far targeted over 600 sites in Iran, “including over 20 targets belonging to Iranian military leaders, more than 150 surface-to-surface ballistic missiles, and over 200 Iranian aerial defence systems”.

Also on 2 March, the IDF posted on social media that the IAF had begun an “additional broad strike
in the heart of Tehran”. Among the video of strikes in Iran released by the IDF on 2 March was a possible trailer transporter erector launcher (TEL) without a tractor, or a radar without its antenna deployed, seen before being destroyed.

In response, Iran's ranged attacks, which it called Operation 'True Promise 4', continued. Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)-linked Tasnim News Agency reported at 1501 h Tehran time on 2 March that the IRGC had announced that in what it called the 10th wave of ‘True Promise 4', it targeted an Israeli government complex in Tel Aviv.
