Turkish company Nurol Makina revealed its eNMSL electric light armoured vehicle at the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025, held from 22 to 27 July in Istanbul.

Based on the NMSL, the new electric/hydrogen-powered vehicle is claimed to feature reduced thermal and noise signatures, being capable of silent operation, according to the company.

Murat Erenoğlu, Nurol Makina's business development specialist, told Janes that it was the first time that the eNMSL was showcased at the IDEF. The vehicle has been in development since about five months ago, according to Erenoğlu. The armoured personnel carrier (APC) inherited its light structure, chassis, design, and transport capacity from the NMSL. The eNMSL's payloads and armaments are largely analogous to those of the NMSL, he added.

At its current stage of development, the eNMSL could realistically operate out to around 200 km if fitted with a larger battery, extending its endurance, Erenoğlu said. He added that a future aim is to upgrade the rest of the portfolio with electric engines.
