United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based defence firm Resource Industries unveiled its Seaguard unmanned surface vehicle (USV) at the UMEX 2026 exhibition, held in Abu Dhabi from 20 to 22 January.

Seaguard has a length of 3.45 m, a beam of 1.25 m, and a weight of 380 kg. Propulsion is provided by a 300 hp petrol engine driving a single waterjet. The USV has an operational range of 50 km, with communications being conducted via mesh radio. A payload of 250 kg can be embarked with the USV equipped with an electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) sensor at UMEX.

Speaking to Janes at UMEX, a Resource Industries representative said that the USV was designed and manufactured in the UAE. Potential roles include patrol, attack, or border protection. The representative also said the company hopes that the USV will be acquired by, and enter into service with, the UAE Navy.
