Taiwanese defence technology firm July Hurricanehas developed a range of new vehicle-mounted counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (C-UAV) jamming stations that were on display at the recent Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE) 2025.
The company showcased two versions of the vehicle-based jammers at the exhibition – an omnidirectional jamming station and a rotating directional jamming station. An official from July Hurricane confirmed to Janes that the platforms are in service with the Republic of China (RoC) Armed Forces and the local police.
The omnidirectional jamming station consists of a radar dome, an electro-optical sensor suit, and four jamming panels, with an option to add six more. The station is mounted on the back of a 4×4 pick-up truck, although officials confirmed that it can also be customised and mounted on different vehicles based on customer requirements.
The dome, which houses a passive radar system, has an elevation coverage of 360º and an effective range of 5 km. Officials said the radar uses UAV electromagnetic signals to locate and identify UAVs.
The electro-optical sensor is mounted on a mast to provide elevated 360º surveillance. According to the official, the sensor can be modular, based on customer requirements. Once the radar detects an incoming UAV, the optical sensor provides visual confirmation of the threat, after which the operator activates the jamming panels.
According to July Hurricane, the omnidirectional jamming stationoperates across a full spectrum and is customisable to support different frequency sets.
