US approves possible sale of IBCS-enabled Patriot air-defence systems to Denmark

The US Department of State has approved a possible US Foreign Military Sale (FMS) of Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS)-enabled Patriot air-defence systems to Denmark, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced in a press release on 29 August.
The DSCA said the Danish government had requested 36 MIM-104E guidance enhanced missile-tactical (GEM-T) missiles, 20 Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) missiles, two AN/MPQ-65 radar sets, two Engagement Control Stations, two Radar Interface Unit modification kits, six Patriot M903A2 launching stations, six IBCS Software Launcher Integrated Network Kits (LINKs), two IBCS Engagement Operations Centers, two IBCS Integrated Collaborative Environments, six IBCS integrated fire-control network relays, and two Electrical Power Plant IIIs.
Other equipment requested include AN/TPX–57A identification friend-or-foe (IFF), Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR), AN/PYQ-10 Simple Key Loader, KIV-77 encryptor, KG-250X Inline Network Encryptor, IPS-250X HAIPE Encryptor, future Combat Net Radio, and AN/PRC-163 radio. They also include tools and test equipment; support equipment; generators; publications and technical documentation; training equipment including the Air Defense Reconfigurable Trainer; spare and repair parts; personnel training; Technical Assistance Field Team support; US government and contractor technical assistance and services, engineering, and logistics support; system integration and checkout; field office support; and other related elements of logistics and programme support. The estimated total cost is up to USD8.5 billion, according to DSCA.
